Steven Peregrine Took

Steven Peregrine Took (1949-2015) was an English musician best known as the co-founder and percussionist of the influential psychedelic rock band Tyrannosaurus Rex, alongside Marc Bolan. Emerging in the late 1960s, the band played a pivotal role in the development of the glam rock genre. Took's innovative use of unconventional instruments, including bongos and other percussive elements, contributed to the band's distinct sound, characterized by whimsical lyrics and a fusion of folk and rock. Notable works include Tyrannosaurus Rex's early albums, such as "My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair... But Now They're Content to Wear Stars on Their Brows" (1968) and "Prophets, Seers & Sages: The Angels of the Ages" (1969). His influence extended beyond his time with the band, as he also collaborated with various artists, including Mick Farren and the Deviants.
